Chandan de Silva – CEO of MAS Investments

Chandan de Silva is CEO of MAS’ Investment division managing a varied a portfolio of eight investments. Prior to this he was Director of Strategic Planning at MAS Holdings, Sri Lanka’s largest company. In this role, he is responsible for facilitating the development of MAS’ strategy.

He is also responsible for creating a Management and Technology institute to strengthen Sri Lanka’s textile and apparel industry and this will be located at MAS’ newly acquired Thulhiriya industrial park.

Prior to this, he was the head of Sourcing and Supply Chain Management at MAS’ Intimate Apparel division. He has been at MAS since 2003 and contributed to the development of MAS’ main suppliers in Sri Lanka and overseas.

Victoria’s Secrets is MAS’ largest customer and is a well known brand of premium lingerie in the U.S. Chandan was co-chairman of Victoria Secret’s vendor council comprising VS’ senior Procurement team and nine of VS’ top vendors. The role of the vendor council was to develop strategies to achieve speed, flexibility, cost competitiveness and innovation across the whole supply chain.

Prior to joining MAS, he lived in the UK for 26 years where he held a number of senior positions in the telecom and computer industries. He is a Chartered Accountant and his last role before returning to Sri Lanka was Chief Financial Officer for the European division of a US data communications company, Level 3 Communications Inc.

Larry Stein – Process Improvement Guru

Larry's talent for problem solving has earned kudos from such esteemed past clients as NASA/Goddard, and Allied Signal Corporation (now part of Honeywell).

With his extensive background in both technology and process management, Larry is an ideal complement to Digital Saber’s growing roster of services. Through his intricate knowledge of process improvement, he has been able to save companies hundreds-of-thousands by substantially reducing costs and improving efficiencies. Larry applies a systematic approach to search engine optimization for Web sites as well as targeted Google AdWords campaigns. However, his goal is, first and for emost, to improve business by identifying and removing inefficiencies and capitalizing on available technology.

An experienced trainer and past ISO 9000 Element 18 (training) leader, Larry holds an MBA and BA with Honors from the University of Chicago. Larry currently resides in Hendersonville, North Carolina and is easily accessible to DSS clients not only in Charlotte, but throughout the country.

Mohammad Hussain (Anwar)

Innovative technology leader experienced in early state mobile technology startup companies:  Founder and Principal at Accel Mobile LLC; and Co-founder of Mobility Partners LLC. Early state mobile technology consulting and product development focused on large enterprise and consumer mobility solutions.

Formerly with Nokia as a Managing Consultant: worked directly with Nokia sales on multi-million dollar mobility initiatives across multiple industries. For example, architected consumer offering for large cable operator looking to create new mobile content delivery channels with dual mode VoIP and mobile messaging; supported large pharmaceutical RFP process for managed mobility services; and developed business cases for one of the largest US retailers that projected cost savings of 20% through mobility solutions.

Created a Mobile Application Framework in the Portfolio Management organization at EDS. This framework provided architectural guidance for mobile and wireless solutions and was included in EDS’ solution portfolio and technology policy. Developed strong business relationships with mobility industry leaders through various go-to-market and alliance activities with such companies as Microsoft, Credant, Bluefire, Sybase/iAnywhere and Dexterra. Filed and awarded patents in mobile technologies.

Worked at IBM in various test engineering and prototype development roles, and received department level recognition for innovation for creating “PCA Diagnostics”, a circuit-level diagnostics application for automating an internal burn-in test process.
